Bunch of Guys Having Fun Benefit
Boys & Girls Club Gang Prevention Programs
When Attorney Joseph Madrigrano Jr. formed “A Bunch of Guys Having Fun (ABOGHF)” he had more in mind than just having friends get together for laughs. The group has held two golf outings that have raised nearly $100,000 for Gang Prevention Programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha.
“We had a solid nucleus of guys who like a good laugh and had the resources to hold events that raise some substantial money” Madrigrano said. “The first golf outing we held at Kenosha Country Club raised nearly $20,000. The guys had so much fun that there was a big demand by others to participate. The second year the guys really stepped up with donations and ideas to raise money. That outing raised over $75,000”.
Madrigrano has long had an affinity for raising funds for club programs. “These programs are so important to the community” he said. “These guys know that there are a lot of kids who just need a chance to learn and play together and the Boys & Girls Club gives them that opportunity.”
On May 12, 2015, ABOGHF held an invitational comedy night at which three known comedians performed. As part of the event the children of the Boys and Girls Club created necklaces which adorned the participants during the event. Madrigrano said the event raised $25,000.00 which will make a difference for the Boys & Girls Club in discouraging its children from gang membership. Further contributions for this program can be sent to the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha, Inc. 1330 – 52nd Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin 53140. All donations qualify as a charitable gift under the IRS Code.
